Process

The process of Garden Design is very flexible … anything from just design plans … right through to overseeing the delivery of an entirely finished garden, complete with follow up support. You could choose to have beautiful new planting designed for an existing garden, or even opt for just a two hour consultation and report for design advice.

Consultation

Your dream garden begins with a visit to your home to get to know you, the site and most importantly of course, your vision for your new outdoor space. The client brief is formed from this initial meeting and conversation and is the basis upon which the design proposals are made.

Survey

Before design work can be undertaken, a full topographical survey of the garden is needed and if you haven’t one to hand, this can be arranged.

Detailed Design

This is when you begin to see your new garden taking shape. Following concept discussions you will be presented with scaled design plans and if required, elevational and 3D drawings to help you imagine being in your new outdoor space.

Construction Phase

Full constructional drawings can be provided, to enable your garden to be built, along with detailed specifications and tender documents, allowing contractors to price on a like for like basis. The tendering process can be managed on your behalf, or you can do this.

Either way, once a contractor has been chosen, the works can be monitored to ensure any structural planting goes in at the right time during construction and that your garden is built to the specified quality and design.

Planting Plans

Detailed planting plans ensure the planting in your garden has been designed to create the look and feel you had imagined, with the right planting in the right place, whether you want instant impact or to ‘grow into’ your garden.

Depending on how green-fingered you are, planting schedules can be prepared, your complete planting list sourced on your behalf and each specimen planted with personal care and attention. And if you need it … a maintenance schedule can be created to help you keep everything at its best.

Follow up

Gardens are natural spaces and nature has a habit of growing, changing and doing the unexpected. Seasonal visits give you the chance to discuss the progress of your garden and maintenance and with time, any changes or additions you wish to make.
